Warren Buffett's Berkshire had joined the consortium composed of private equity investment firm Centerbridge Capital Partners LLC and Leucadia National Corp, which is in personal talks with Citi for the likely purchase of OneMain.
OneMain could collect more than $8 billion, according to a source told to the Journal.
