NFL Owners And NFLPA Agree To 24-Hour CBA Extension

It appears the NFL owners and the NFL players' union (NFLPA), are using the extra day to agree on a longer extension of the CBA, and are involved in negotiations together with federal mediator George Cohen.

Both sides were expected to sit down with Cohen before any negotiations would take place.

If the CBA expires, the owners can lock-out the players, and the players' union could decertify in an attempt to prevent that through the legal system, s

The NFL collective bargaining agreement, or CBA, was set to expire last night at 11:59 PM ET, till both sides agreed to a 24-hour extension.
