Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ:COST) reported May sales were up 17% year-over-year to $7.14 billion. Comparable store sales were up 13% overall; 11% in the U.S. and 21% internationally.

Comparable stores sales increased by 7.4% from May 2010, including a 4.4% increase due to the higher price of gasoline.

Excluding gas, merchandise comparable store sales grew by about 3%.
