Shares of Pandora Media Inc. (NYSE:P) plunged $1.05, or nearly 6% to $16.88 on Thursday after the company's stock drew back on the same day that Spotify was released in the U.S.

The Labor Department Reported New Applications For Jobless Claims Fell 22,000 Last Week

Economists had expected new requests for jobless benefits to total 420,000 during the week ended July 9. Claims in the prior week were revised up to 427,000 from an original reading of 418,000.

The average of new claims over the past four weeks dropped 3,750 to 423,250.

The Labor Department reported that new applications for unemployment benefits fell last week by 22,000 to a seasonally adjusted 405,000, which brings claims to the lowest level in three months.

Honda Motor Projects 65% Drop in Profit For the Year

The company said it expects total production for the year to drop 6% to 3.3 million total vehicles for the year, down from 3.51 million in its year ended in March 2011.

Honda is projecting a profit of $2.4 billion, down sharply from the $6.6 billion recorded last year, and far lower than the post-quake consensus estimate for $5.0 billion.
