Lennar Corporation (NYSE:LEN) reported Q1 EPS of $0.14, vs. the consensus estimate for a $0.05 per share loss. Revenue for the quarter was down 2.3% year-over-year to $558 million, beating the consensus estimate for $508 million.
Spending for December was revised to a decline of 1.6% from a prior estimate of a 2.5% drop.
Private residential construction rose 5.3% and private construction spending fell 1.2%.
The Commerce Department reported that construction spending fell 0.7% in January. Economists had expected spending to fall to 0.1%.
