J.C. Penney (NYSE:JCP) struggling with its restructuring plan after posting dismal second quarter results. The department store chain reported a net loss of 37 cents per share, wider than the street's expected loss of 14 cents.

Simon Property also added to the good news by raising its full year forecast for FFO in the range of $7.60 to $7.70.

Revenues in the quarter fell 53.3% year-over-year to $409.5 million, beating estimates of $406 million.

American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE:AEO) seeing green this morning. The clothing retailer reported Q1 EPS of $0.23, nearly 40% higher from the same period last year. This beat analyst estimates of $0.20 a share.
