Retail company, Macy's (NYSE:M) agreed to pay a $750,000 civil penalty to the federal government after allegations by the U.S.
Of the $2 million penalty, $750,000 must be paid by the company, while the rest can be used to improve services and facilities for disabled passengers beyond basic legal requirements.
The government has stated that DAL's handling of disabled passengers worsened after an earlier investigation in 2003, based on the complaints of disabled passengers from 2007 and 2008.
Shares of Delta Air lines (DAL) are down 1.44% after the Transportation Department ordered the company to pay a $2 million penalty for disability violations involving its passengers.
