Equity futures are pointing higher this morning with the Dow Jones Industrial Average looking to open 34 points higher while the broader S&P500 index is looking to open 4 points higher.

The deal gives Servier co-development rights for Xoma's anti-inflammatory drug candidate, XOMA 052.

Xoma is slated to receive $35 million upfront for the deal, as well as a maximum of $470 million in milestone payments and product sale royalties.

Additionally, Les Laboratoires Servier will commercialize XOMA 052 for related illnesses on a global level.

Shares of Xoma Ltd. (NASDAQ:XOMA) closed 38% higher Tuesday afternoon at price of $7.30 after the company reportedly signed a deal with French drug manufacturer Servier.

Equity futures are pointing higher this morning with the Dow Jones Industrial Average looking to open 32 points higher while the broader S&P 500 index is looking to open 2.50 points higher.

Including these sales, as of Dec. 28, there were 28,489,121 common shares outstanding. The Company estimates that its cash and cash equivalents as of December 31, 2010 will be in the range of $36 to 38 million.

Xoma (XOMA) is up after it says in an SEC filing that from the inception of its Oct. 2010 at-the-market agreement through Dec. 28, it sold a total of 6,739,476 common shares through Agents for aggregate gross proceeds of $29.7 mil
