The German automaker Daimler is recalling close to 137,000 sports utility vehicles in the United States due to possible problems with their cruise control systems. According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety administratio

The company found that about 3% of the recalled Dodge Journey crossovers and Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans had the defect, which allowed car keys to come loose during vehicle operation.

Chrysler launched an internal investigation last September following two instances of rear-end collisions that may have stemmed from the problem.

Continental AG is the supplier of the keys.

Chrysler has recalled more than 248,000 vehicles, including crossover SUVs and 2010 model minivans, due to an ignition defect that cause the engine to shut off without warning.
