Bloomin' Brands Goes Public and Posts Modest Gains

Investors are getting a piece of that delicious blooming' onion…well a piece of Bloomin' Brands (NASDAQ:BLMN.O) anyway. The parent company of Outback Steakhouse when public today on the Nasdaq. It's initial public offering consisted of 16 million shares priced at $11 per stock.

Since its debut, Bloomin' Brands is up 14% on the day, up almost to $13 a share. The company also owns restaurant chains Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. The IPO was backed by private equity firm Bain Capital.
