From FNNO.com, you're watching the Financial News Network. Nobody likes airplane food, but would you ever expect it to be harmful to your health? A total of six sandwiches on four different Delta flights were discovered to have sewing needles in them.

The sandwiches were provided by Gate Gourmet, and assembled in its Amsterdam facility. The FBI has announced out of its Atlanta office that it will lead a criminal investigation into the situation, with help from an attache in Amsterdam. Delta is cooperating with authorities and has replaced all the sandwiches on its Amsterdam-U.S. flights with pre-packaged meals.

One passenger was injured biting into one of the affected sandwiches, but refused medical treatment. Delta is down .18 from its 11.10 opening and is trading on an average volume of 12,015,000.
