7-26-2012 From Fnno.com, you're watching the Financial News Network. Chick-fil-A may make a delicious chicken sandwich, but many customers aren't buying the anti-gay views of company president Dan Cathy. Now Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel has joined the chorus of those speaking out against the fast-food company.

Chick-fil-A has been rapidly shedding supporters since Cathy reaffirmed his dedication to the "biblical definition of the family unit" in two different interviews over this past month. Earlier this week, the Muppets hightailed it out of their partnership with the company, forcing Chick-fil-A to pull the Muppet toys that had previously been given away with kiddie meals. Then Boston's mayor Thomas Menino pledged to block Chick-fil-A from expanding into the city limits. Now Emanuel has made it clear that the company shouldn't even think about trying to grow its presence within Chicago, saying, "Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago values."

Any remaining supporters of the chain can take some solace, however, in the knowledge of a new holiday, put forward by Fox News anchor and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. On August 1st, be prepared for National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. For more coverage and analysis of the business world, follow us on Twitter @FNNOnline or check out our website at fnno.com
